WHAT?!?!?

Really!?!? Under $9?

But are they good?

Amazingly enough:

YES!!

Just to be clear, these wines are not Champagne. Sparkling wine can only be called Champagne if it is made in Champagne in France. These are made the same way Champagne is though.

I write all about that, and the one exception to that rule, in a different post. All related posts will be below. Don’t want you to lose the flow here.

Let’s introduce these 2 wines before I show the link for the YouTube video I made tasting them:

Bottle of Trader Joe's Brut California Sparkling wine — This is Trader Joe’s Brut California sparkling wine. $8.99

Brut means dry, by the way. We really know very little about this wine from the label.

**I cannot even read the font on the back label! Clearly this is not the way to find out a lot of information.**

I am assuming the grapes used in the wine are the same as used in Champagne, but who knows??

The only reason I bought this wine is that it was recommended to me by the wine crew member at Trader Joe’s. I highly recommend following this type of advice. They are usually quite knowledgeable about their stock.

I really did not have high hopes for anything this inexpensive. But no real downside.

It TOTALLY delivered!

It was shockingly good for the price. It was really good!

I have no idea how Trader Joe’s does it!!

Any actual champagne for that price would be vile! NEVER go too cheap with Champagne.

Inexpensive and good value is one thing, cheap is another. Don’t go there.

It was not our favorite of the two wines, but that is only because the next wine blew it out of the park for us!

Bottle of Trader Joe's Brut Cava — **M. Chevallier Carte Noir Brut Cava $7.99**

**Cava is a sparkling wine from Spain. Not the same grapes as in Champagne, but made the same way.**
**No back label at all to get more information, by the way.**

I recommend Cava all the time. Again, related posts, below. I actually usually buy a different Cava when at Trader Joe’s, but this is my new favorite.
