Two beyond incredible great value bottles of Trader Joe’s wine

These are two beautiful bottles of wine! One from France and one from Spain.

Beautiful bottles?!?

YES!

These bottles are beautiful inside and out!

Let’s talk about it!

At this point, many of you know that Trader Joe’s wines and I are in a love/hate relationship. I love the wines and the insane value, but I hate that I don’t have a store near me. At all!

I do not want those people around the world who have no Trader Joe’s to feel left out. (Many may have Aldi, but that is another story.) There is always enough information about certain wines in general so you don’t feel ignored.

Just in case you don’t know how much I appreciate Trader Joe’s wine, here are links to my earlier posts. In most of them, I keep my whining about no Trader Joe’s wines near me to a minimum. But seriously, WHY?!?!

I really don’t know how Trader Joe’s does it. I mean, I sort of do.

What I really mean is, how do they get such delicious wine into a bottle at such an incredible price?

I really know of NO OTHER wines that consistently have such low prices and great flavor. Well, time out! Some wines I have purchased at Trader Joe’s I don’t write about. They can’t hit everything out of the park. Also, everyone’s taste is different.

However, if you don’t spend a ton of money, your expectations are different. You didn’t overspend on mediocre or yuch wine. No one wants that. No one.

Spoiler Alert: I cannot speak to wines at Trader Joe’s that are more than $12 or $13. I don’t purchase them. I have never tried Two Buck Chuck. That’s for someone else to write about.

What I find incredible with the two bottles of wine I showed above, is that the actual bottles are really great glass bottles. This is not to be taken lightly.

This is probably the time when you think: Boy, she is really into these bottles. Sort of. Let’s take them one at a time.

I would buy this bottle just to use it as a carafe!

The wine inside was equally great!

We purchased this wine in Alexandria, Virginia. Shout out to Chris who recommended it. (Remember to value anyone reliable who gives you good advice about wine!!)

Another beautiful bottle that can be used as a carafe.

I actually was looking for Cote de Roses Rosé. It is widely available, but Trader Joe’s is often less expensive.

Opaline, which I did buy, is a sparkling rosé from France made from the Pinot Noir grape. Rosé wines are not usually made from Pinot Noir grapes, but I’m so glad they did it here. If you want to know more about rosé wines, and how they are made read my post on the subject. It’s called: “Seriously, Rosé is for everyone and not Just for Mother’s Day!” Had I tasted this rosé before I wrote that post, I definitely would have included a mention.

Sparkling rosé is really fun and festive, and great for so many occasions. At only11.5% ABV (Alcohol by Volume), it is really easy drinking. Even better is that the price is only $8.99!

And for the gift that keeps on giving, if you remove the label it really is a beautiful carafe.

On to Spain!

This Spanish wine is in a hefty bottle!

The wine inside is quite hefty as well.

Puerta Plata is a Spanish wine made from 60% Tempranillo and 40% Grenache (also known as Garnacha. If you want to know more about Spanish wines read my post on it here.) It is fruit forward, full bodied and absolutely absolutely delicious! (Remember with body of wine think: skim milk, whole milk, or cream. You can also check out my post on helpful wine vocabulary here.)

Its alcohol content is 14.5% (ABV) so it is not a wimpy wine by a long shot! While you can have the sparkling rosé for brunch or lunch, this wine would cry out for a nap, or a siesta, afterwards. It is definitely a dinner wine, well except maybe in Spain. With a price of only $7.99, the value is mind boggling.

The reason I talk about the bottle for this wine is because it is so heavy. What’s the big deal, you may think. It is a big deal. Inexpensive wines usually have really light bottles. It costs more to ship heavy bottles. A heavy bottle usually comes with an expensive wine., and not one costing only $7.99!

If you brought this wine to someone, unless they read my blog or really know Trader Joe’s wines, they would assume it was expensive. If you covered the wine with a bag for a blind tasting, the weight of the wine and bottle would lead people to believe it is much much more expensive than it is. Whether you do this or not is up to you. You do you. Just saying.

I, personally, always love to see people’s reactions when they find out a wine they find delicious is so incredibly priced!!

Clearly a child is not drinking wine, but I couldn’t pass up this shocked expression!! Picture the adult equivalent.

So enjoy these wines and the bottles!

Have fun with it!

Exactly!!

As I’ve said before, if you’re not having fun with wine, why bother?
